About Community Homes, Inc.
Providing living assistance for adults with disabilities starts with Community Homes, Inc. Our Bothell, Washington, non-profit organization creates rich, full lives for adults with developmental disabilities by providing and promoting quality, community-based housing and services. We select and support caregivers in creating an environment for residents to grow and experience independence in the community.
We were founded in 1995 by a family with a disabled daughter, and they wanted her to have every opportunity to live to become more independent. Since then we have grown to have seven houses where clients can live. We believe everyone deserves the right to have their own independence, regardless of their abilities.
Founders John and Ann Therrien started Community Homes, Inc. for their daughter, Jenny, and four other women. John and Ann became our first caregivers in our community. The Therriens created a reproducible and sustainable operational model, by providing quality housing for other adults with disabilities.
Today, we serve more than 45 residents with our adult family homes and shared living models, ensuring the highest level of independence for our residents along with 24/7 support from our caregivers.
